6. Gold

I'll give you every chance
to make a fool out of me;
trust and believe
every word you speak.
And when you prove me wrong,
to have been a fool all along,
that won't say a single bad thing
about the man I try to be.

I choose to believe in the good in humanity and honesty;
think that's what makes a man worth a damn, honestly.

Nothing can ever take away what that means.

It's in my first thoughts every time.
And if it is all that I have,
then, damn, do I know I have done things right!

Fool's gold is still a fortune
if it's all the fool wants in the end.

Nothing can ever take away what this means.
